I finally gave up. I beat the custard on high speed for about 20 minutes — still runny. I’ve tried to beat in cornstarch mixture — still runny. Finally, I sprinkled in gelatin/water while beating my poor custard to a new level emulsion — a little thicker, but Reading More May Cause Envy…
