Grity Mac&Cheese ?
What kind of cheese are you using? Some cheese, like sharp cheddar, is difficult to get smooth in a sauce. Mixing in some good, smooth melting cheese like monterey jack or Gouda or Gruyere, etc . .will help it come out smoother.
