Is there a way to get deli-thin slices of roast beef without a slicing machine?

I use a Spanish-made ham knife from Toledo. Its long thin blade doesn’t drag on the meat, and with a little practice it will cut fine and thin every time. It cost an arm and a leg but it’s been worth every cent, and will certainly outlast me and at Reading More May Cause Envy…
