I love the genre of food essays — Bill Buford’s Heat, Laurie Colwin’s Home Cooking, Ruth Reichl, Barbara Kingsolver’s Animal, Vegetable, Miracle, Garbrielle Hamilton’s Blood, Bones, Butter. There must by now be a name for this sub-genre(?)
